About Fuma Ryu Ninjutsu

Fuma Ryu is an ancient form of ninjutsu with a history going back to the Sengoku era of ancient Japan and possibly further, it's shinobi being used by the Hojou clan in it's campaign to unite Japan. It is not part of the Bujinkan or Genbukan systems and is in no way considered a competition art. The school sticks to the traditional techniques and etiquette of the Fuma shinobi and uses rank as opposed to a coloured belt system. The grandmaster of Fuma Ryu is Harunaka Hoshino Soke who currently resides in San Fransisco. The British Fuma Ryu Ninjutsu Society (BFNS) began in December 1992 and is currently headed by Adam Richardson Sensei, with the Braintree dojo opening in June 1999 under Paul Adams Kyoushi. More recently, dojos have been opened in Ely and Ridgewell, with a Chelmsford dojo coming soon. Within this site you will find more detailed information about the school, the people within and related events. Please note that we do not teach children under the age of 16, unless at the discretion of their instructor. Such a decision will depend on the maturity of the student. Please feel free to contact us with any queries or comments you may have.
